Freight1 is a UK load board where shippers, forwarders and brokers post loads and hauliers contact them directly to quote. There is no commission on the job: you agree the price between yourselves, and membership is a flat weekly or monthly fee after a 7-day free trial.
The board is built for the work that actually moves through British ports and depots: containers off Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway, curtainsider full loads, part loads, reefer work, flatbeds, vans and car transporters. Shippers use it to find capacity fast. Hauliers use it to fill empty legs and win regular customers. If you are new to load boards, start with our guide to how a freight exchange works.
Roughly 30% of the distance UK lorries drive is driven empty, according to the Department for Transport's road freight statistics for 2024. That is wasted fuel for hauliers and a missed cheaper option for shippers. Freight1 joins the two sides up. A shipper posts a load with the route, dates, trailer type and a budget; hauliers heading that way see it on the board and message or call. A haulier with a truck free in Leeds tomorrow can post the truck as available so shippers can find it instead.
Your problem is getting a reliable haulier at a fair price without ringing round. On Freight1 you post once and hauliers come to you with offers, so you compare names, ratings and licence details side by side. Read the shipper guide.
Your problem is empty miles and brokers taking a cut. Here you deal with the shipper directly and keep the full rate. Filter by port, trailer type and route, then message before anyone else does. See how hauliers use Freight1.
Your problem is covering container moves and urgent jobs at short notice. Post jobs for your clients, find trucks posted as available, and keep every conversation in one inbox. Our container haulage guide covers port slots, trailers and customs.
Membership is a simple subscription: £51 per week or £151 per month. Haulier accounts are billed per vehicle; shipper, forwarder, broker and customs agent accounts pay a flat rate. There is no booking fee and no percentage of the job, which matters when a container move from Felixstowe to the Midlands pays £800–£1,000. Full details are on the pricing page.

Trust is the whole game on a load board, so it is built into the platform rather than promised in a slogan. Every new account starts as pending until our team approves it. Hauliers record their operator licence and their Goods in Transit, hire-and-reward and liability insurance, with expiry dates; documents checked by our team carry a Checked by Freight1 mark. After each delivery both sides can rate each other, and only completed jobs count, so a rating means a real load moved. Read more on how verification works.
The best load board is the one with work on your lanes and members you can check. Freight1 focuses on UK port, full-load and part-load work, shows licence and insurance details, and charges a flat fee with no commission.

Yes. Every account type gets 7 days of full access, including posting, contact details, messaging and tracking, with no payment up front. Add a card only if you decide to stay.
Request your free trial, complete your company profile, then post a load or browse the board. Hauliers should add licence and insurance details so shippers can see them.
Shippers: post your first load and see who comes back to you. Hauliers: open the board, set your route and message the shipper before the job goes. Either way, the first 7 days cost nothing.
